Very interesting and pointing to more troubles for sure.
One of my biggest complaints with this plan is the lack of care put forth to seniors. Required counseling for end-of-life issues seems a bit over the top to me. I could go on and on, but I won't hijack your blog.
I truly believe our ADLO's wouldn't have had anywhere near the care they did if this plan were in place.
Hopefully this will start a dialog amongst Americans so that we can reform our system. I really need to read up more about other countries and other proposals. There has to be a way for everyone to be covered without the government running the health care system.
One of the first cuts to this program should be illegals. If you are in this country illegally and do not pay taxes, you shouldn't be entitled to the same health coverage as law abiding citizens. Emergency care? Yes. But not every day health coverage. Come into the country by legal means and we'll go from there.
Betsy, I definitely agree with that. Though I've heard that lately illegal immigration is way down due to our bad economy. Unfortunately, emergency care has become their primary care, so our ERs are backed up with uninsured people (both legal and illegal) who go in for issues that should be covered by a primary care doc.
