Doing OK

Life continues to be surreal for me. I feel Mom all around me and I talk to her often. Is that weird? Yet, I also feel able to move on with my life because I know that is what Mom and Dad would both want for me. I'm reconnecting with friends, especially on Facebook where I've found friends from high school and even my sister's best friend from grade school on. Her family were good friends with our's. It's comforting.

In February I'm going to Mom's sister's 80th birthday party. I'm excited to see my Michigan family. My family is very small; Mom's sister married Dad's brother so we have double cousins. It's fun and we are close because of that.

I think I'm done with all the thank you's from Mom's memorial service. It doesn't seem possible that it was 3 weeks ago today. Cherish the moments with those you love for time is fleeting.

Hey Robyn, this is going to take time but you know that already. I still talk to my folks and I think they still listen to me. Nothing is weird about getting through the grieving process if it keeps you going.

It sounds like you are really doing great though with everything. It's hard to forge forward but you are doing it:)

Have fun at the party and enjoy being together. There just isn't anything better than family:)

Robyn, I am glad to hear that you are doing "ok"!

Some days it seems as though time has passed so quickly, and yet other times, those weird times, when the events seem so close that they must have been "just yesterday". I am starting to believe that the trick to this is to make time your friend. Pick and choose your memories, just like you are choosing which friends to reconnect with. Keep the good ones and toss the others back in the pond! :)

You just have to find the balance that works for you and center yourself. Me, I find that I march to the beat of a different drummer and most of the time, it works for me!

((hugs))

I talk to both of my parents! I know they hear me and it's comforting to me. I don't find it weird at all.

Stay strong, Robyn. I'm glad to hear you are doing better.
