Just got a note from the director of the day program. Mom is doing better and better each day. I'm glad. It's hard to gauge how she feels about this because she never mentions it, even with prompting. Though tonight she did say someone made her go into the bathroom 'because she needed to'. I don't know if this was someone at the day program or if it was Joyce. Tonight she seems more emotional and she was holding her head even though when I asked she said she didn't have a headache. She also didn't have much of an appetite tonight, but that is normal since she probably had a good lunch.

It has gotten cold here. I brought my hibiscus plant into the house in an effort to keep it. I also turned the furnace on.

Does Joyce stay with your mom at the program? If she does, maybe she could give you a little summary each day of what your mom does and how she seems to be interacting. Hopefully your mom was just tired tonight. It's so hard to tell because things change so often.

It's getting cold here, too. My furnace will probably be on tonight.

Hi Betsy, Joyce doesn't stay with Mom at the day program but the director is pretty good about communicating with me. The day program will send home a summary but it's usually not on a daily basis. Last week I received a bunch of them on Thurs that told what Mom participated in and what she had for lunch. They even do foot care and Mom took part in that.

I have noticed with my Mom, that she gets more agitated etc when a front is moving through. The change in pressure really does a number on her. Have you noticed that at all? The holding of her head but saying she doesn't have a headache made me think of that. The dramatic change in temp/high wind we had yesterday might be affecting her like it does my Mom?

You know I noticed that weather change seemed to affect my dad negatively.

Mornings are a little cool here but still warm in the afternoons. But the season is changing.

i'm glad to hear that your mom is adjusting to day care. that is such a blessing for both of you.

i know when russ went to day care they use to take him to the bathroom like every 2 hours to try to prevent accidents. maybe they do that for your mom too.

it too is colder here. we have held off turning on the furnace yet. i know it's only a matter of time...
