I missed the poll. I had to think how I would answer though. Dad had a terrible sweet tooth after he began showing symptoms and it became stronger. But I can't really say he had a sweet tooth before diagnosis. He would eat about 1/2 cup of ice cream nearly every day and one cookie at coffee break and another at lunch. But that was about the extent of it.
After diagnosis he really had cravings more than a sweet tooth. The worse was when he would eat sugar directly from the bowl. That became better when we started insulin.
That was all before the discovery that the brain actually produces an insulin itself. Now some people actually are saying that Alzheimer's may be a kind of diabetes. Just one of so many theories.
Flinty, that is very interesting. I have heard about the diabetes/ALZ possible connection. I'll have to read more about that. Welcome back, I've missed your wisdom.
